 Madame Tussauds

Madame Tussauds is a celebrated wax museum in London and was set up by wax sculptor Marie Tussaud. She learnt the art of creating wax sculptors from Dr. Philippe Curtius and created her first wax figure of Jean-Jacques Rousseau in 1778. Other famous persons she modeled at that time were Voltaire and Benjamin Franklin. Marie Tussaud was arrested by the revolution on suspicion of royalist sympathies and was due for execution but she was saved for her talent in wax work and employed to make death masks of the victims. Some of the masks she made were even of her friends. Amongst the famous people who she made death masks were Marie Antoinette, Louis XVI, Marat, and Robespierre. Madame Tussauds London is located on Marylebone Road in Central London and was s opened in 1884.

The wax museum is divided into various zones and the first zone is A-List Party. Some of the exhibits in this room are Samuel L Jackson, Morgan Freeman, Leo DiCaprio, Nicole Kidman and David and Victoria Beckham. It is like stepping into a party filled with celebrities. The Next room is High School Musical, which has all the characters of the musical drama series and is designed to look like a basketball court and a locker room. Zac Efron is the key display character in the room.

The movie room has all the movie character from the Hollywood including Steven Spielberg, Jim Carrey, Spiderman, Shrek, the Incredible Hulk and Audrey Hepburn.

The Sports zone is a favorites amongst sports enthusiast with figures like  David Becham, Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Martina Hingis, Muhammad Ali, Andy Murray, Lance Armstrion, Ronaldinho, Shane Warne, Wayne Rooney , Brian Lara, Pele, Steffi Graf, Sachin Tendulkar, Shaquille O'Neal to name a few. In the Royals zone one can do the impossible, get a picture clicked up-close along with royalties like Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Charles, Prince of Wales, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Prince William of Wales and Prince Henry of Wales.

Culture Zone is full of culture icons like Albert Einstein, Stephen Hawking, Pablo Picasso and Charles Darwin. Music zone is home to some of the greatest musicians of the century including Kylie Minogue, Christina Aguilera, Cher, Elton John, Jessica Simpson, Jimi Hendrix, Madonna, Michael Jackson, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Amy Winehouse, Tom Jones, Bob marley, The Beatles, Justin Timberlake and Freddie Mercury.

The World Leaders Zone has some of the greatest political and spiritual leaders of the World including Benazir Bhutto, 14th Dalai Lama, Mahatma Gandhi, Fidel Castro, Adolf Hitler, Boris Yeltsin, Vladimir Putin, Princess Diana, Emperor Akihito of Japan, Genghis Khan, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Margaret Thatcher, Nelson Mandela, Mikhail Gorbachev , Pope Benedict XVI , George Washington, Abraham Lincoln , John F Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Barack Obama, Saddam Hussein, Winston Churchill, Tony Blair to name a few.
