 Leicester Square
Leicester Square is located in the West End of London. It is equidistant from Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Covent Garden and Cambridge Circus. In the middle of the Square is a small park and its centre has a 19th century statue fountain of William Shakespeare surrounded by dolphins.
The Square come to life post sunset, it is the centre of London's cinema land. The square is home to one of the cinema screen and has a seating capacity of over 1600 people. All the major premiers are held at cinemas located around the square and the square is full of floor mounted plaques with film stars names and cast handprints. Odeon Leicester Square, Empire, Odeon West End, Vue, Prince Charles Cinema and Cineworld are some of the main cinemas in the area.
Some of events that happen at the square are a winter fair and also some of the stage performances on the Chinese New Year. Leicester Square is also home to headquarters of Global Radio and radio channels like Capital 95.8, Classic FM, Xfm London, Choice FM, Gold, Heart and LBC. MTV UK television studio is all located close to the square.
