 Kensington Palace, London
Kensington Palace is a royal residence set in Kensington Gardens in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in London. It has been a residence of the British Monarchy since the 17th century. Today it is the official residence of The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester; the Duke and Duchess of Kent; and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.
Until 1997, it was the official residence of Diana, Princess of Wales and of Princess Margaret until 2002.
Kensington’s State Apartments which are a part of the Kingston Palace were handed given over in 1911-12 to London Museum for the display of objects relating to the City of London and royal relics. The State Apartments were filled with showcases, some containing hundreds of objects and the displays included a large collection of costume, including 18th-century court dress, coronation robes and dresses worn by Queen Victoria, Queen Alexandra and Queen Mary.
Court Mantua, Sunken garden, Mary of Modena’s bed, The King’s staircase, The King's gallery, Queen Victoria’s bedroom and The Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection are some of the most popular attractions at the Kensington Palace. Princess Diana's dress collection is part of the display at The Royal Ceremonial Dress Collection.
