 Dock Lands
Docklands is the semi-official name for an area in the east of London, consisting of four postal districts Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Newham and Greenwich. Once the docks were a part of the world’s largest port and now the area has been redeveloped for commercial and residential use.
Over the last 20 years due to growth and ample work opportunities the population of docklands has doubled and has become a famous residential address with luxury flats being constructed alongside low budget public housing complexes. Most of the warehouses and wharf’s have been demolished and some of them have been converted into flats or some are been used for water sports. The best commercial area in docklands being Canary Wharf and has seen a new resurgence since the 80’s. Docklands is home to the three tallest buildings in England, One Canada Square, 8 Canada Square and the Citigroup Centre.
Some of the other attractions in the docklands are The O2, Cineworld Cinema, Excel, Canary Warf Ice Rink and Museum of London Docklands

Museum of London Docklands shows the long history of London as a port showcasing the archaeological finds and unusual objects. It has 13 galleries including one for the children. The museum has a large collection of historical artifacts, models, and pictures. The main the collection in the museum are the archives of the Port of London Authority.
